My Approach to Helping
A health crisis can strike without warning, turning your life upside down. At first, you may question if you’ll make it through and worry about how your loved ones will cope. Treatment brings its own challenges—endless appointments, loss of control over your life, and dealing with exhausting side effects. When it's over, doctors expect you to move on, but the emotional toll often lingers. That’s where I come in. I specialize in helping you heal from the PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other emotional side effects that can follow a health crisis.
The lasting emotional scars of medical trauma are often overlooked or misunderstood. Working with a therapist who truly understands the challenges of being thrust into the role of "patient" can make a profound difference. Together, we’ll reconnect your mind and body, manage sleepless nights, chronic pain, and overwhelming thoughts. We'll also explore self-advocacy with your doctors to avoid retraumatization. When you're ready, we’ll find meaning in your experience and chart a path forward.
Together, we’ll navigate the emotional aftermath, rediscover your strength, and help you find a way to move forward with purpose and hope.
More Info About My Practice
Nature is a powerful ally in healing both the body and mind. Research shows that spending time outdoors can reduce stress, improve mood, lower blood pressure, and boost overall well-being. That’s why I offer Walk and Talk therapy—combining the therapeutic process with the healing benefits of nature. We’ll meet at local parks or trails, walking side by side as we work on your healing journey. If Walk and Talk isn’t a fit for your schedule or lifestyle, I also offer telehealth sessions.
In my practice, I draw from extensive training in trauma and medical trauma, providing specialized support for those navigating life's toughest challenges. Whether we’re walking through nature or meeting virtually, I’m here to guide you toward resilience and growth.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
If you have tried therapy in the past and are feeling frustrated by the process Walk and Talk Therapy might be a good option for you. I use Walk and Talk therapy to combine the benefits of nature and movement with talk therapy. This approach allows you to engage in therapy while walking outdoors, which can enhance relaxation, clarity, and openness. The natural setting and physical activity help reduce stress and foster a more dynamic, reflective conversation, making it easier to explore and address personal challenges.
