My Approach to Helping
Starting therapy is a brave and healthy decision. I do my best to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space and to honor each client's individual journey towards health and wholeness. I believe humans are doing the best they can and at times need new tools to meet life's challenges. I affirm the basic goodness of people and the desire to be seen and understood. My professional goal is to support clients in making desired changes towards greater mental and emotional ease, flexibility and strength. Client's tell me I am warm, empathic, funny, relational, and direct.
My therapeutic approach to helping clients is empathic, non-judgmental, relational, and wholistic. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, grief, BIPOC and racial trauma, and life transitions. As a former RN, I am also comfortable working with clients who have chronic illnesses, need end of life support, or identify as caregivers. I have a Masters degree from Northwestern and am psychodynamically trained. I also incorporate mindfulness, bodymind connection, open to spirituality, and nature-inspired growth. I enjoy working with young adults, adults, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ally.
