My Approach to Helping
Are you tired of just surviving? Are you ready to THRIVE? Major changes, death, relationship issues, dissatisfaction in career, self-esteem issues, past trauma, and normal life events can leave many of us feeling Depressed, Anxious, Angry, Empty, or even like we have lost our Identity- our sense of who we want to be. I provide individual counseling for adults and adolescents, couples/marriage counseling, family therapy, sex therapy, and career counseling/coaching. I would be honored to work with you to achieve your goals for satisfaction and well-being! Call today and start THRIVING!
More Info About My Practice
My practice is conveniently located in Frisco, TX. I strive to create an open and inviting atmosphere in my office where we will move at your pace. We will focus on the achievement of your goals and a plan of action which may include steps you can take at home to make the process as interactive and effective as possible. I have over 10 years of professional experience in the Dallas/Collin County area, including experience in corporate settings. Observing and experiencing the lack of balance, self care, and overall satisfaction that can exist as we struggle to occupy ALL of our different roles inspired me to become a helping professional. I try to relate to my clients by looking at the whole picture. Not just the past, but also the situation surrounding them now: home life, work environment, stress factors, and relationships. Insurance- I am an Out Of Network Provider. Depending upon your plan, you may be able to be reimbursed by your insurance company.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Counseling doesn't have to be scary or intimidating. It is mostly just talking, listening, and a little education. Most of us experience feelings of Anxiety, Depression, Loss, Guilt, Fear, Anger, Sadness, Disappointment or other emotions at some point in our lives. Counseling can help you work through these feelings and alleviate some of the discomfort associated with them. Talking to an objective listener is different than talking to a friend, family member, or co-worker. While it is incredibly important to have these people in our lives who support us, a trained counselor may be able to help you see the whole picture a little better. Throughout the counseling process I might ask questions or offer another perspective that could help you clarify your needs and goals. We will talk about healthy vs. unhealthy coping skills. I will also work with you as sort of an accountability partner in an effort to help motivate you to take action. However, this will go at your own pace and rhythm. It is definitely difficult to talk to anyone, especially a stranger, about your thoughts and feelings. We will work to make you feel as comfortable as possible, and I will check with you frequently during our sessions to see if you have any questions or concerns about the process.
