My Approach to Helping
Do you feel that no matter how much love you give, you don't get it back? No matter how hard you try, nothing seems to work? I help people who are wounded because of old or new family or relationship problems, people who lack hope in life or faith in themselves--people who have had enough. Who want to feel more happiness, feel better about to themselves, get on with a life of meaning.
My approach is easy-going, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I work with you to minimize the things that sabotage your happiness. These might include old traumas that need healing, negative ways of thinking, poor decision-making, limited ability to see options, or poor self-esteem.
I primarily use deep and respectful listening, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and EMDR--a method for rewiring the brain to be more positive and less affected by old traumas. In addition to my graduate training in clinical mental health counseling, I hold a Ph.D. in life coaching.
