My Approach to Helping
I help clients learn to; notice your thoughts, emotions, and feelings again so you can stop panic attacks before they happen - stop yelling at your kids before you start - begin saying yes to life before you automatically say no - notice how there is safety and pleasure in your body - and, break away from internal conflicts that leave you stuck
More Info About My Practice
Do you need the pain of yesterday to stop interfering with your aliveness and pleasure today? Is there a part of you that's says, "it's too much to look at all the crap I've been though. Just make it go away"? It's so disheartening to try and find a therapist that you actually feel connected to. Feel safe with. Feel seen by. When all the hurts and broken relationships of the past crash against the hopes of your future a therapist that's confronted their own privileged place in this world and healed through their own traumas, addiction, and battles with mental illness can be a saving grace.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Those moments when my clients learn to recognize that they can hold strength and pain in their bodies at the same moment. That they aren't broken. That they've still got inside them all they need to have an empowered life.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Therapy isn't the garbage you see depicted in tv. Effective therapy is about you and I developing a safe enough relationship that your nervous system can final settle. A settled nervous system gives you access to all your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and memories without being overwhelmed by them, and without feeling the need to shutdown.
If you're feeling like traditional talk therapy isn't right for you - you're probably right. I'm not a traditional talk therapist. I'm a somatic (body) focused therapist with the priority of helping you to leave each session feeling more empowered to navigate your life.
