My Approach to Helping

I approach each client with a tone of warmth, non-judgmental curiosity, collaboration, and a healthy dose of humor. Rather than viewing you as a diagnosis, I recognize that you are a unique, multi-faceted person and I believe you are the true expert of your own lived experiences, goals, and values. I know what it's like to balance various life roles that are ALL important to you (whether that be employee, student, caregiver, etc.) and to feel like you're not currently able to "give your all" in ANY of them.

Using only therapy approaches that have been proven to be highly effective, I will collaborate with you to help you address challenging thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors, supporting you as you move closer to living a life that is consistent with those things that are most important to you. Our work may also often include implementing between-session skills practice that is tailored to you and your goals, empowering you with the skills and tools to continue being highly effective long after our work together has ended. Using this individualized, evidence-based, and goal-oriented approach, many clients find that they are able to see notable improvement within 6-12 sessions.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Throughout my training and my career, I have served as a therapist, therapy consultant, clinical supervisor, andor people manager across a wide variety of settings, including academic medical centers, state psychiatric hospitals, VA hospitals, and the corporate space. As such, I not only have extensive experience providing psychotherapy to a diverse range of clients and presenting concerns within these spaces, but I also have the lived experience of navigating my own work-life balance and learning to recognize and manage my own burnout. I know what it's like to feel completely depleted and like a shell of yourself at the end of the day, to feel like you're not able to "give your all" in any of your life roles, and to recognize that something has to change while not being sure where to even begin. My private practice was born out of these personal and professional experiences and my desire to support others in getting unstuck and achieving more balance in their lives.

Are you an anxious overachiever who is feeling burned out, out of alignment, and "at your limit"? Perhaps you are a working professional or a parentcaregiver (or both!) who is feeling overwhelmed by juggling life's many responsibilities and looking to find ways to live a life that's more fully aligned with what matters most to you. I get it and I've been there.
