My Approach to Helping
I approach each client with a tone of warmth, non-judgmental curiosity, collaboration, and a healthy dose of humor. Rather than viewing you as a diagnosis, I recognize that you are a unique, multi-faceted person and I believe you are the true expert of your own lived experiences, goals, and values. I know what it's like to balance various life roles that are ALL important to you (whether that be employee, student, caregiver, etc.) and to feel like you're not currently able to "give your all" in ANY of them.
Using only therapy approaches that have been proven to be highly effective, I will collaborate with you to help you address challenging thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors, supporting you as you move closer to living a life that is consistent with those things that are most important to you. Our work may also often include implementing between-session skills practice that is tailored to you and your goals, empowering you with the skills and tools to continue being highly effective long after our work together has ended. Using this individualized, evidence-based, and goal-oriented approach, many clients find that they are able to see notable improvement within 6-12 sessions.
