My Approach to Helping
In the mental health community, we highlight the importance of creating a "safe space" for our clients. It is important to me that you know that our "space" is unique to you. I do not see therapy as a one size fits all mentality and believe that every session is your time to share what is on your mind, what has been bothering you, and what thoughts and feelings have been lingering in your mind. I will support you through your ups and downs, and most importantly help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and those around you. Together, we will create a relationship that is grounded in trust, respect, and vulnerability.

Above all, I am committed to continuing to end any stigma against mental health. Instead of the phrase “calling people out”, I like to think of it as “calling people in” to encourage others to join conversations around therapy, mental health, and suicidality, and share ways in which we can create a more supportive, accepting, and compassionate environment.
As a queer woman, I not only believe in but advocate for a significant increase in affirming spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that the best way towards this is to have open and honest conversations with those of different perspectives so we can collectively understand the needs of those around us.
