More Info About My Practice
My practice includes trauma recovery, helping people on a journey of hope and recovery for different types of trauma. Sometimes this is the pain of a difficult childhood, dysfunctional families, a major loss, abuse, divorce, or other traumatic events. The process of trauma recovery is different for everyone, and I utilize a range of therapies to meet people's unique experiences. I hope to serve as an ally and companion to help people recover their true essence, and joy in their lives. For people facing addiction and codependency, I offer coaching in 12-step and recovery-based concepts.
I enjoy working with couples and am certified in Effective Relationships counseling. In couples therapy, I work with a dynamic, solution-focused approach to build positive communication skills, repair difficult emotional dynamics, and shift ingrained relationship patterns. It is my belief and experience that many relationships can improve with positive interventions, clear goals, and the therapist's compassion and strength.
In my holistic training, I developed a mindfulness practice which can be beneficial to people seeking a more peaceful existence, worklife balance, and relief from anxiety. In mindfulness work, I hope to help people facing difficult life circumstances develop resiliency skills and internal awareness, which can lead to a more meaningful life.
Part of my practice is also devoted to the fields of infertility, and adoption. Couples and individuals struggling with infertility can experience stress and hopelessness, and strain on their relationship. I hope to help people manage this difficult time in their lives, and regain a sense of hope and resiliency. I am sensitive to women's issues, and how infertility treatment, miscarriage and termination can affect women on many levels. The process of adoption can carry particular weight and stress for people, and I hope to be a companion and guide in this process.
