My Approach to Helping
Being a human being definitely has its share of ups and downs. In our lives we can have a whole range of experiences. Some are joyous and ecstatic, leaving us on top of the world while others can be mundane or boring and yet still others can feel downright hopeless and dreadful. As a therapist, it is my mission to help you learn how to navigate and experience the broad range of emotions that come with life. It is also my mission to help you to clarify what your own personal goals and values are as well as to collaborate with you on a road map to help you move in the direction you want to go.
I use a non-judgmental, person-centered approach that allows you to explore what's happening in your life so you can learn how to be more compassionate with yourself. In addition, I can teach you mindfulness as well as cognitive behavioral therapy tools that are evidenced based to help manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress from life issues and substance use disorders as well as many other mental health concerns. I look forward to hearing from you. Feel free to contact me so we can talk more about how my approach might be helpful for you.
