My Approach to Helping
My greatest reward as a therapist is helping my clients explore ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope. I believe that we all need someone to talk with who will listen and accept us without judgment. I consider therapy as a privilege where I am invited into my client's lives, and to travel the journey with them through healing, change, and self-empowerment. I utilize different modalities such as; psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness.
I worked with families and children, helping them to be more aware of their strengths while respecting each other as an independent unit. I worked with families who went through loss and traumatic experiences. I have certification in counseling and adoption, Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and childhood traumatic grief.
