My Approach to Helping
What would it be like to be able to speak up, say "NO", communicate your opinions and emotions, feel good enough, and be able to just be real? That facade could finally be put aside and you could be authentic, genuine, comfortable, and ... dare I say, HAPPY! I understand the need to smile at everyone, be warm and enthusiastic at all costs, place other people's needs and desires above your own, and avoid speaking up, interrupting, distressing topics, or anything that may cause another person discomfort. The cost of this for you is chronic guilt, anxiety, fear, and not being seen. You're living in emotional isolation and it's painful.
I will help you become your authentic self and show up fully, boldly, and unapologetically without fear of what others will think. You can finally live for YOU! Free to make the choices that you want to make while still being kind, empathetic, generous, and loving. It's time to feel confident and powerful and create the most loving connections of your life.
Life is too short and you're too amazingly unique to be hiding your true self. Are you ready to find your power, discover your voice, increase self-esteem, and create an incredible life? I can't wait to see the moment all of this clicks for you! The time to take action is now. Call me today to schedule your first appointment or a free 15 minute consultation.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Most of my clients experience some level of ambivalence or uncertainty about going to therapy. A lot of people call on their worst days. The days where it seems like they're completely lost or nothing else is going to work for them, but they may not be confident that therapy will work either. Guess what? That's okay!
Therapy is a risk! You're sharing parts of yourself that maybe you've never shared with anyone before and you're sharing them with a stranger. Yes, it's a therapist - a person whose job is to understand, reflect, support, and help you grow, but it's still a stranger (at least at first!). You're also investing your time and money into the process hoping for an outcome that isn't guaranteed. That's a risk and you have to decide if it's worth it or not. Is the risk worth the possibility of creating life-altering change and establishing a reality that it probably better than you are capable of visualizing at this time? We all know that playing it safe generally leads to more of the same and the type of change you're looking for will likely require some sort of risk. Is that risk therapy?
I welcome your ambivalence - I understand that part of you will probably be relieved to be heard, cared for, and understood, while the other parts may be trying to avoid, avoid, avoid in a misguided effort to protect yourself.
It's okay. All parts of you are welcome.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The relationship between a client and therapist is crucial to the process and outcome of psychotherapy. After verifying a professional's credentials and competence, the next step is to find somebody that makes you feel comfortable! You need to be able to trust and open up to your therapist. You need to feel respected, understood, and valued in the therapeutic relationship. Without these crucial components, therapy will not be beneficial.
Make sure you ask any potential therapist some of these questions:
1. Are you a licensed professional (e.g., psychologist, counselor, social worker) and how many years have you been practicing?
2. I have been feeling (anxious, depressed, stressed, overwhelmed) and I am having problems (in relationships, at work, with feelings of self-worth, sleeping, functioning in general). What experience do you have working with people with similar problems?
3. What types of treatments do you use? Is there research supporting the use of this type of therapy with my specific type of problem or issue?
4. What are your fees?
Good luck finding a therapist that is the right fit for you!
