My Approach to Helping
Let's normalize mental health talks. Next time someone says "I've been struggling lately", let's normalize "you should see a therapist".
It is never easy to share your thoughts and your emotions to someone you do not know well, but I promise there are advantages. The benefit: unbiased, non-judgemental, confidential and compassionate, qualified support. My role is to provide guidance; help you analyze, dissect, and organize your thoughts; and apply research-based strategies that work. I\'ll help you feel comfortable by adopting a relaxed, calm, slow, gradual, at-your-pace and reflective approach. I want you to walk away feeling empowered and that I brightened your day.
It's simple. I want you to see me as your confidante. Let us walk that road together.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help
Your goals. Period.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Therapy is about achieving the goals you want for your life. They may be long- term goals or short-term goals, you as the client determine what these are with support from your therapist. Your therapist may make suggestions andor recommendation on how clients can reach their goals.
There are no guarantees that therapy will work for you. Progress can be slow and sometimes therapy can bring up unpleasant memories and emotions. This is a common aspect of recovery. Therapy requires commitment and requires active and consistent effort to be successful. It is necessary to apply the strategies discussed during sessions in your daily life to achieve progress and recovery.
However, there may be unfortunate times when a therapist's mood, values, and approach does not align with yours. Try again. You only lose when you give up. Finding the right therapist for you may take time and effort. But, I promise it'll be worth it and you'll have a therapist for life.
