Walk & Talk Therapy is ideal for those who want to engage in personal growth while also enjoying nature and getting some movement into their day. I offer walks in the South Etobicoke or if you have a trail that you prefer, we can go there. MileageTravel may apply to sessions.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I enjoy working with ADHD, Anxiety, Burnout, CareerEducation Stress, Relationship Stress and Low Self Esteem. I have completed trainings in these issues and I find that I connect well with clients with these presenting concerns. I provide clients with psychoeducation which helps increase their sense of awareness and provides solace. Clients leave sessions feeling more motivated and empowered.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Having been a client myself, I will always advocate for clients to find a therapist that is a good fit for them. It can be hard having to open up with someone new, but having a therapist you genuinely connect with makes a world of a difference. Just because a therapist has extensive trainings in a particular area does not mean they will be the best fit for you. As I have worn the hat of a client and now of a therapist, some things to look out for is if you enjoy the therapist's style. Do you like someone who can call you out discrepancies and "keep it real" or someone who can gently guide you? Do you resonate with a therapist who uses a particular modality? These are some questions to think about when finding a new therapist. Don't worry if you don't find the right fit the first time- as a client you can express your needs. As a therapist, my best hope is that your therapeutic experience is one that is transformative, compassionate, and fun. My clients look forward to our sessions and that's how I can tell I am the right fit for them.
