My Approach to Helping
Anxiety disorders, stress management, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders coping with change, along with school-related issues of children and adolescents and parenting concerns, are her counseling specialties. Recent certifications include CCATP, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and Certified Telemental Health Provider. Her treatment approaches include Mindfulness, DBT, and CBT. As a yoga teacher, simple yoga and breathing techniques can be incorporated into one’s life as part of the healing process. Integrative counseling is the therapeutic approach of her work with a solution-focused cognitive-behavioral foundation incorporating mindfulness strategies and techniques. She has traveled, studied, and lived in the U.S., Mexico, and Europe, speaking other languages. She is culturally aware and a sensitive individual full of empathy and respect for all people. As an experienced licensed professional counselor, she has counseled children, adolescents, and special education students in K-12 schools in Arizona and Wisconsin. She has also worked as an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) counselor with adults and couples. Experienced in Telemental Health, as well as virtual education as an adjunct University Instructor and Spanish Teacher, working with clients and students online is a very natural process for her.
