My Approach to Helping
My biggest takeaway throughout my clinical career is understanding the perplexity of mental health and how all too often, people can be misunderstood when we don’t take the time to listen. I am a strong believer in meeting the client where they are and not forcing the therapeutic process. My engagement skills revolve around maintaining flexibility and no judgement with whomever is in the room with me. It is vital to understand that our challenges don’t define us and we must value every person as an individual, not by their diagnosis, disability or trauma history.
I practice with an evidence-based, eclectic approach while incorporating humor and authenticity. I specialized in anxiety, panic, depression, school phobia, bereavement, trauma, and eating disorders.
Rapport building and creating the foundation of trust is essential for any work to truly occur. Our work is based on your intentions and your goals, with the understanding that my role is to support and guide you. Pride yourself in taking this first step in improving what has been. The work is not easy, but I am here to take that journey with you.
