My Approach to Helping
My approach to therapy is compassionate, relational, and interactive. I work to create a safe and supportive environment so that we can address the obstacles that are interfering with your quality of life. Together we will explore the conflicts and concerns that have contributed to whatever problems are bringing you to therapy. I believe it is important to find an approach that is uniquely tailored to each person, and, to that end, draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques. I have over twenty-five years of experience in helping people and strongly believe in our capacity to find inner strength and resilience when we most need them. Whether the dilemmas you face are new or long-standing ones, therapy can help.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy provides a place to explore the conflicts and circumstances that are preventing greater satisfaction and peace in one's life. In a safe and supportive atmosphere, therapist and client work together to find new ways to improve the quality of one's life. Sometimes unexpected life events occur that strain our coping abilities, and sometimes we simply become aware that our relationships andor feelings about the satisfaction we are getting from life are leaving us worried, confused, or yearning for something more. Depression and anxiety are often the clues that something is out of balance. Therapy makes it possible to look closely at what troubles us and find solutions that help us to feel better.
