My Approach to Helping

I am a mom, a psychologist, a teacher, a writer, a pet owner, and someone who believes in the power of good therapy to help us find direction when we feel either lost or off-course. I believe that most of us are doing the best we can and trying to make the most out of the resources we have available. Despite that, Life sometimes feels overwhelming or unsettling, and we need to find someone who can consider our situation with more objectivity than we possess. I have been a psychologist for over 20 years and have spent thousands of hours in therapy -- both as a therapist and as a client. I know how challenging it is to take the risk to tell someone about how hard Life is and how you are getting in your own way. Every first session I conduct begins with the same opening line: \"Tell me why you are here and how I could help.\" I want to hear clients\' stories because stories give us clues about the best routes to our goals and help us identify predictable obstacles that could get in our way. Our stories remind us of where we have been and what Life lessons we carry from past experiences. After listening to your story, I want to hear about your goals for your current chapter and the subsequent ones. I wish you all the best in the process of finding the therapist that will be the right fit for you and the path you want to travel.
