My Approach to Helping
I provide a warm and safe yet dynamic environment in which clients share their innermost thoughts, heal wounds, gain insight and learn to live with more confidence, humor and joy. As a supervising Licensed Psychologist with 25 years of experience, I am able to quickly attune and put clients at ease. I am genuine, intentional and spontaneous in the room, which lends itself to a truly collaborative and growth-promoting experience. While treatment duration is need based, some positive change can be expected rapidly.
My therapeutic approach is broadly psychodynamic yet integrative. I work closely with my clients to understand and transform their concerns within the context of their formative relationships while integrating techniques from diverse models to facilitate growth and healing. In addition to Psychodynamic-Relational Psychotherapy, I have advanced training in Bowenian Family Systems Therapy, Intersubjective and Humanistic Psychotherapies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, The Transtheoretical and Harm-Reduction Models of Behavior Change, higher education mental health, play therapy, consulting psychology, and suicide prevention. My life-long exploration into global, intuitive, and somatic therapies has further shaped me. I welcome any questions about getting started.
