My Approach to Helping

Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I am passionate about supporting all of my clients through challenges to experience healing and growth in their lives.

My therapy approach is client-centered and varies based on the needs of each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. These modalities help me and my client build a shared understanding of their reality, and allow us to work together to make progress in their well-being.

I have typically worked with children, pre-teens, adolescents, and adults. I have years of experience helping clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, anger management, stress management, eating disorders, PTSD and trauma, and grief. My clients and I will work together to build skills that will allow them to feel better and develop a more positive outlook on life.

My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking to me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.

I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I help others and it is a very rewarding experience. As I grew up, many people helped to ensure that I was safe and successful so it is important to me that I do the same for others. I truly enjoy seeing individuals become the best versions of themselves!

My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what they want to accomplish during our time together. This often starts by building a foundation of trust between us and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy.

During our initial session, clients can expect to spend the majority of the time talking about how they have been feeling lately. I will also ask questions to better understand why my clients feel a certain way and gather any information that will help me learn who they are as a person. Every person is different and it is important to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for my clients moving forward!
