My Approach to Helping
My training would be defined as "cognitive behavioral therapy" but I engage in general therapy. This means that I will work with my clients to meet them where they are and use tools, interventions, and approaches that respect their person and strive to align with who they are. I am here for the client and make it a point to engage on a humanistic level. I am not a therapist who sits in a chair and asks "how does that make you feel?" I am a therapist who wants to actively help you identify your goal(s) and come up with a plan for you to reach them. I will not waste your time and I am invested as much as you are.
I can help you by providing a safe space that offers support, context, validation, acknowledgment, and a dynamic and engaged approach. I have worked with numerous clients over the last decade and believe I can offer most people constructive and helpful ways of resolving, engaging, or dealing with the challenges that are occurring for them.
I am only able to do this job and be in this role because I have had challenging times in my life. Thankfully, those times have helped me become someone who is empathetic, strives to always be genuine, and that is why I encourage you to reach out to me. I have lived life, been through ups and downs and while I may not be in your shoes, I get it.
