My Approach to Helping
As a psychotherapist, I am guided by my intensive psychoanalytic training primarily centered on identifying root causes (both conscious and unconscious) that may be interfering with one’s ability to lead the life of one’s choosing. Instead of applying band-aid quick fixes to resolve deep-seated issues, I am committed to helping clients dig deep from within to bring about meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
My approach is interactive, working collaboratively with clients to unearth potential blocks and unhealthy patterns to make room for new possibilities that may have escaped their imaginations. I am also pragmatic in contending with pressing short-term issues that may take precedence, requiring immediate attention, as I believe that both can co-exist within the therapeutic process. A willingness and commitment to stretching beyond one’s comfort zone are essential to achieving meaningful, sustainable change.
My warmth and empathy provide a safe space to freely express oneself and feel heard as an essential precursor to change, which can feel daunting. I remain attuned to each client’s needs and preferences, modulating the pace and depth of the process accordingly. Given the complexity of our lives, the process may take unexpected twists and turns, yielding priceless results!
