My Approach to Helping

There is hope among the darkness. You don't have to feel stuck or struggle alone. For adolescent and adult women looking for a new beginning... from sadness and despair, your tears are welcome; for those who live in fear and insecurity, this is a safe place; for those who are lost in a life of drugs and alcohol, your journey can begin today. Therapy offers a new beginning, a new day after the darkness. It takes courage to begin anew. Leave shame behind to find sanctuary and peace. Rediscover your inner resilience you thought had long been extinguished. Take a soul filling breath... visualize the person you know you have inside you, and see the courage and strength that's been there this whole time, just ready to be rediscovered.

More Info About My Practice

Growth and healing occurs when the relationship with your therapist is a perfect fit. Therefore, it is essential to choose the right therapist for you. I offer a free 30 minute consultation, so we can ensure my approach will help you accomplish your life goals.

Therapy should fit into our daily lives, joining and working together, rather than being a burden. Evening and weekend sessions are available, as well as online scheduling and bill pay.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have extensive experience working with women and adolescent women, from diverse racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds, in the treatment of and healing from trauma experienced in childhood or adulthood and it's present-day consequences. Types of past trauma may include, but is not limited to: child abuse and neglect, partnerrelationship violence, and sexual trauma. This complex and chronic trauma can create obstacles in our life today, including chemical addictions, self harming and suicidal thoughts and behaviors, disassociative symptoms (including DID), codependency, and changes in our mood, such as anxiety, depression, and mania.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

There is tremendous pain in the world, and there are those who carry the weight of it on their shoulders every day. I am honored to be welcomed into the lives of those who are ready for change. Those who come to the table with fight left in them, though they may themselves feel weak. It's truly amazing to walk with each person on their journey towards increased hope, happiness, and emotional health, to provide the tools they need, and to watch them become stronger every day. For some, the journey can be long and challenging. But, those who dig deep, find the biggest reward. I am honored to be a part of that process and am proud of all those who take the biggest risk of all--the first step to ask for help. I can't imagine doing or being anything but a conduit of healing.
