POTENTIAL NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF A DIAGNOSIS– Insurance companies require the therapist to give you a mental health diagnosis (e.g., “major depression” or “obsessive-compulsive disorder", etc..) to get reimbursed. Psychiatric diagnoses may rebound and negatively impact you in the following ways:

Denial of insurance when applying for disability or life insurance;
Company (mis)control of information when claims are processed;
Loss of confidentiality due to the increased number of persons handling claims;
Loss of employment andor repercussions of a diagnosis in situations that require revealing that you have a mental health disorder diagnosis. This includes but is not limited to applying for job applications, applying for financial aid, and concealed weapons permits.
A psychiatric diagnosis can be brought in a court case, such as a family law, criminal, etc.
For the reasons above, I work with many clients to use to explore payment options such as Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Service Accounts, and Out of Network insurance benefits, and scholarships. Counseling with Jim Ciraky Ph.D., LPC is fee-for-service at the rate of $195.00 per 45-minute session. I accept all major methods of payment.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Anxiety can be a significant challenge that many individuals face, especially within the context of marriage. The pressures and responsibilities that come with being in a committed relationship can sometimes exacerbate feelings of anxiety. However, it is important to remember that there are effective counseling techniques available to address these issues and help couples navigate through their anxieties.

Anxiety counseling techniques can provide couples with the necessary tools and strategies to manage their anxiety within the marriage. These techniques may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying negative thought patterns and replacing them with more positive and realistic ones. Through CBT, couples can learn how to challenge anxious thoughts and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Marriage counseling techniques also play a crucial role in addressing anxiety within a marital relationship. Couples therapy provides a safe space for partners to openly communicate their fears, concerns, and anxieties. A skilled therapist can guide couples towards developing effective communication skills, conflict resolution strategies, and stress management techniques specific to their unique circumstances.

By utilizing anxiety counseling techniques within the context of marriage counseling, couples can gain a deeper understanding of each other's anxieties while working together towards building a stronger foundation for their relationship. It is important to remember that seeking professional help is not a sign of weakness but rather an investment in the well-being of both individuals involved in the marriage.
