My Approach to Helping
Hello, I'm glad you found me. I am a warm, genuine and empathetic psychotherapist specializing in trauma and relational issues. I strive to create a healing connection that can be transferred outside of the therapy room into other relationships. I help empower individuals to break free from patterns of insecure attachment caused by childhood trauma and develop the skills and awareness necessary to create strong, meaningful connections with self and others. The issues that I treat include affect dysregulation such as anxiety and depression, grief and loss including survivors of suicide, and body image, and self-esteem issues.
Although my practice is diverse, I primarily work through a somatic attachment lens which means that I use the nervous system, and the counselling relationship as a guide, drawing on concepts from Polyvagal theory, Attachment theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology to assist you in feeling a greater connection to yourself and others.
In our sessions together, I provide an attuned, non-judgemental nurturing, and empathetic space for you. The focus of our time together will be on building relationship, trust, and safety, going slowly, allowing space to process, to build awareness and connection to yourself and others. I invite you to contact me to see if we are a good therapeutic fit.
