My Approach to Helping
I view each client as a unique individual and realize that no matter what their presenting concerns are their life experience is distinctly their own. I believe we each have the ability to discover the answers to the concerns and problems that trouble us. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges you face. We will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing more fulfilling relationships and happiness in your life.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
My deepest joy is found in helping a person to find greater peace and satisfaction in their personal and relationship life. I truly value the opportunity of sharing in my clients' personal lives. It is very rewarding to develop close relationships with my clients, and I believe I am able to provide an atmosphere of acceptance and openness that fosters their ability to share their deepest concerns, pains, traumas, and hopes. I am passionate about counseling and mental health, partly because of my love of people, and also because of the wonderful intricacies of human experience. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity of being involved in learning and growing along with the individuals I work with.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
I understand that coming to see a complete stranger, to divulge and discuss sensitive and private information, can be a frightening idea. I want to assure you that the things which are discussed in counseling are kept confidential. My experience with clients who are seeking counseling for the first time is they find that opening up to a professional counselor was not at all as difficult as they had thought. Additionally, the fact that a person has even considered talking with a counselor is an indication that there are issues and problems that need to be explored and resolved. Professional counselors are trained to understand and empathize with a variety of life issues. A wonderful sense of relief and catharsis can be experienced after only a few sessions.
