My Approach to Helping
My name is Josephine Narcisse, M.A., LMHC; I am a mental health professional striving to build a therapeutic connection that can be shared outside my therapeutic room. I received my Master of Arts in mental health counseling and wellness from New York University about two years ago. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for ten years in a residential setting, helping people who are diagnosed with mental and physical disabilities to enhance their quality of life. I have developed a passion for helping others and strengthening the significance of mental health.
I am a Ph.D. candidate at Capella University and exploring social media’s impact on one’s self-esteem. My therapeutic approach combines empathy, compassion, warmth, and respect, and I work collaboratively with all clients. I support my client’s autonomy and decision-making while guiding them to find the best outcomes and become authentic. As of Caribbean descent and being acculturated with the American culture, I am culturally competent in most cultures and approach all unfamiliar cultures with curiosity and respect.
I look forward to hearing from you.
