My Approach to Helping
People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons. Many desire a sense of fulfillment and others wish to function more effectively. Whether you are experiencing relationship difficulties or family conflict; struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress; or feel burdened by events from the past, therapy can be a safe space where you explore ways to find meaning and build the life you want. My priority is to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment where people feel empowered to recognize and eventually express their needs for love, support, protection, and comfort.
I have 10 years of experience working with diverse populations of adolescents, adults, couples, and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. I work primarily from a psychodynamic and emotionally focused lens. Emotionally focused therapy is an evidenced based model designed to help people accept, express, regulate, make sense of, and transform emotions.
I see therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to identify the emotional challenges and relational patterns in your life that aren’t working. We all need support and asking for help is a courageous first step in building the life and relationships you desire.
