My Approach to Helping
Life presents many difficult challenges to navigate alone, and knowing when to reach out for support shows courage. As a licensed professional counselor, I have been assisting clients for over 30 years who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. Whatever the issue, we will work together to find the best solutions. My philosophy is based on the belief that treatment must be structured specifically to meet the needs of each individual. I also believe that having a strong therapeutic relationship is essential in accomplishing progress and reaching resolution in treatment. My experience has taught me that this occurs best in a safe, non-judgmental environment. When clients feel comfortable, they are more receptive to learning the various tools that promote growth and change. In treatment, I utilize a client-centered approach and cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe in using the client’s strengths and introducing tools to challenge their thoughts that will empower them to feel and respond differently to their current situation.
