My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed professional counselor licensed by the state of Texas. I received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Clear Lake in 2003 and a master’s in counseling from the University of Houston Clear Lake in 2010. I taught for ten years in bilingual and special education. I worked in community mental health for almost a decade, including working with men, women, children, adolescents, and families. I address a variety of issues including work stress, trauma, behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, legal issues, grief, immigration issues, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.
My counseling approach entails a person-centered approach. I offer a non-threatening environment and a judge-free zone. My philosophy is to meet people where they are and help them become authors of their own lives.
I am bilingual-English and Spanish.
