My Approach to Helping

I've often described myself as a personal trainer for the mind. My approach is uncomplicated but requires hard work by both therapist and client. I use this simple motto: Change your thoughts, change your life. My passion is empowering clients to engage in deep self reflection and challenge the unhealthy choices we make on a daily basis that result in increased stress and prevent us from experiencing joy. I'd be honored to help you take control of your mental health and guide you through the process of making a lasting lifestyle change.
I specialize in helping individuals, families, and couples work through life issues and manage symptoms of a variety of mental health concerns. I teach clients to effectively communicate their wants & needs while avoiding common thinking errors like making assumptions and taking things personally. I will guide you toward a life of peace and authenticity.
I have helped many teens and families set household expectations to avoid misunderstandings and create balance within the family system. I work with new mothers through postpartum depression, breastfeeding, infant sleep patterns, scheduling, and growth leaps. I use Gottman relationship tools to strengthen couple's relationships and address conflict.

More Info About My Practice

We offer weekend and evening appointments to accommodate your schedule. We understand that therapy is a commitment of your time and money. We take that very seriously. We want to ensure you are matched with a therapist that best suits your unique needs. We believe in continued education and accountability as therapists. We attend trainings and have obtained additional certifications beyond our clinical training and education. We are passionate about our growth and ongoing learning and look forward to sharing these valuable tools with you.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

I view therapy as a place to build skills necessary to deal with life's inevitable challenges. A person that wants to be a better cook might take classes, watch videos, and try new recipes. A person that wants to lose weight might hire a personal trainer, join a gym, or see a nutritionist to learn more about what they put in their bodies. A person that wants to live a more authentic life with less anxiety about the future, regret about the past, and inability to enjoy the present would benefit from going to therapy and making small changes daily in their thinking. Going to therapy doesn't make you weak, it makes you resourceful.
