My Approach to Helping
I help people who are seeking emotional balance in their lives with people who have been diagnosed with, a non-life threatening, chronic condition including mood disorders. It can really be emotionally overwhelming to handle so many life changes. My goal, along with the goals that you bring to the table, is to increase the number of go-to evidence based skills to help manage these struggles in the moment. We will work on accepting these realities by focusing on implementing and maintaining a balanced life based on what is meaningful and important to you along with focusing on the “I can” instead of the “what I can’t”. Having the tools in your toolbox when life becomes especially difficult is essential and there are healthy ways to manage it.
I offer Individual sessions with a focus on Coping with Chronic Health Conditions for those over 18 years old. Disorders that are chronic and non-life threatening can include but are not limited to autoimmune disorders, neurological issues, cardiac, diabetes, mood disorders such as depression or bipolar and others are considered the primary focus begining treatment. The specific diagnosis is not the focus but the emotional management of them is. How to manage to the best of your ability while acclimating, addressing the mood issues and improving your quality of life is the focus. This is a time when you may feel very alone and isolated even if you have loved ones helping. Treatment will require active participation and completion of weekly follow through in order for changes to be implemented into your daily life.
