My Approach to Helping
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over ten years working with diverse populations across the age spectrum. My career began working with children, then eventually families, adults, and more currently, a complex Veteran population. My approach to treatment is client-centered. We will work collaboratively on developing a treatment plan based on your priorities, goals, and abilities. Tackling both long and short-term goals, we will move at a pace that is comfortable without being overwhelming. I have a background working with children and childhood trauma, adultsfamilies, and Veterans. I am comfortable and have experience treating most diagnoses, age groups, and populations.
I genuinely try to keep our space feeling as safe for you as possible. Being comfortable with me and our practice is of utmost importance for progress. I strive to create a relationship that makes you feel content when being open and vulnerable. I believe in the saying "it takes a village," but not just in reference to raising children. A sense of support and safety is integral to human development and healing. Anyone coming to therapy is already moving in the right direction towards their goals and I love being able to help them reach their potential along the way.
My approach to goal setting is typically client-led. With my help, we will develop a treatment plan based on your long and short-term goals and work in session to move the needle forward each time. Checking in on goals is a great way to measure progress and reevaluatereadjust as needed. During our first session, we will cover a thorough history together, discuss goals, limits, boundaries, and preferences. I want you to get to know me, and me you. Your comfort and peace of mind are always a priority, so I try to use our first session to get to know how to best serve those areas.
