“My counseling style is centered around helping you complete the goals you set for yourself in a supportive and warm environment free of judgment. I am trained to use different therapy options including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trauma therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy(EFT-I and -C), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and brief solution focused counseling theories as well. I look forward to working with you and supporting you in finding a better future.“

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I strive for a client centered approach to therapy where you are in control with where we go and how fast we get there in our sessions. My goal as a therapist is to follow your lead and take directives from you on what is best for you. You are the expert on you. I am open to feedback on your experience and adjust with the understanding that I am a support through the bit of your journey that I accompany you on, not the leader.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

There is a large range between the duration and frequency of therapy by individual, but I strive for my client's to spend more time on work outside of counseling than in. Counseling does not work unless you do. It is a lot of work to make lifestyle changes, but I will be there with you through the challenges and the movement. In sessions, I encourage my clients to devote time outside of sessions towards their goals and put their insights and solutions from counseling into practice, therefore sessions do not have to be too frequent, unless you need that extra accountability. I encourage my clients to begin to seek out what they receive in counseling in their real lives, so they do not have to be reliant on counseling for success in the future. My job is to put myself out of business, something I gladly would exchange for everyone meeting the goals they set for themselves.
