My Approach to Helping
I believe everyone deserves to be the best version of themselves. Since 2006, I have seen people make significant life and behavior changes, getting unstuck from old patterns and view their world through new a lens. My approach is strengths-based and holistic, addressing the whole person. I am compassionate and non-judgmental, but also direct and matter-of-fact in my approach.
My passion is working with college students and adults on mental health, trauma and addiction issues. I work collaboratively with you to identify goals and solutions that work best for you in your life now. You will always have a choice in the direction therapy goes in order to ensure it remains beneficial and most effective. It is common for people to experience more than one issue at a time, therefore we will sort through and make a game plan to best fit your needs.
As a Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addiction Counselor, I am trained to address complex issues using evidenced-based interventions, which include: CBT, DBT, IFS and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in EMDR which directly works to reprocess traumatic experiences and how they are stored in the brain and body. My goal is to help you develop deeper insight and self-awareness into your thought and relationship patterns, provide a safe place to work through difficult issues or addictions, and provide tools that may help you achieve overall balance for a lifetime. Deciding to start the therapeutic process takes courage and I would be honored to join you on your journey. Let me help you get back on track.
