My Approach to Helping
I have the privilege of participating in people’s journey through life as a mental health therapist. This responsibility is taken with utmost importance and genuine care. I am experienced in treating individuals, families, and couples. The ultimate goal is to help them develop the life they seek. This is accomplished by building a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. I have extensive experience with depression, anxiety, ADHD, disruptive behaviors, mood disorders, adjusting to adolescence, child development and parenting, and addiction recovery. I have training in evidenced-based practices, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). I work with children and adolescents (ages 5-17) with mental health disorders to shape their behaviors and develop coping techniques. Young adults (ages 18-25) face unique challenges transitioning into adulthood and benefit from a therapist that shares insights, provides support, and assists them in learning decision making skills.
Treating couples is a delicate balance. I focus on coaching the pair to gradually understand each other and then move forward by strengthening a renewed bond. I believe it is essential to engage both in the relationship in order to feel heard and actively participate in the therapeutic process.
