My Approach to Helping
My goal is to help you feel confident and supported, while encouraging you to make the best decisions for yourself. I aim to provide honesty and education where I can but trust that you know yourself best. We can use body movement and artistic expression to enhance our work together in addition to our talk therapy.
I want to empower you with the tools you need to overcome your challenges and face your fears. While you may feel alone in the world, you aren’t! I can help you build a strong supportive network, including myself, to help you keep going. I know from personal experience how important taking care of your mental health is. I want to help you find and love your true self and become a better, healthier, stronger version of you.
More Info About My Practice
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, surrounded by my fellow Puerto Ricans, but was educated in predominantly white institutions. I am now living through the gentrification of the same neighborhood I grew up in. I have experienced life in a close-knit community and experienced life outside of one. Those experiences taught me the importance of having that close, supportive community.
Whether it is a shared culture, religion, or interest, I believe we all need to have a space where we feel comfortable to be fully ourselves. By volunteering with people in crisis, I have seen how often a lack of support can be a major risk factor for mental health issues. I am happy to be here to offer support through a culturally sensitive lens and person-centered perspective so you can live the life best suited for you. You are not alone here.
