My Approach to Helping

Are you feeling stuck? Life looks good on the outside, but you don’t feel that way on the inside. You've tried self-help books, podcasts, talking with friends, even therapy. However, you’re not experiencing the change you've been seeking. You feel like you’ve hit a fork in the road and gotten as far as you can for now. I work with adults experiencing anxiety and depression; individuals looking to better cope with a chronic medical illness, and people overwhelmed with stress at home or at work and seeking a healthier work life balance.
My approach: we work as a team-you have a space to share your story, and we will also be goal-driven and tailored to your needs. Through CBT you will learn to challenge unhealthy thought patterns, identify emotional triggers, develop strategies to lower your body’s stress response, improve communication skills, and be more intentional, present, and engaged.
I believe that therapy is the best gift you can give yourself. It can help you unburden emotions, strengthen self-esteem, boost confidence, resolve daily and recurring struggles, foster more harmonious relationships, and create a greater sense of well-being and life satisfaction. Groups I Work With

I work with adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, irritability, stressed and feelings of overwhelm. I have a subspecialty in Health Psychology and also work with individuals coping with a chronic medical illness, such as cancer, heart illnesses and autoimmune diseases. The theoretical framework from which I work is termed Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). CBT is backed by research which, in simple terms, means that it has been proven effective in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. The basic premise of CBT is that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all inter-related. Therapy may include psycho-education, relaxation training, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and problem solving work to name a few.
