My Approach to Helping
If you feel overwhelmed with life stressors, like you need to turn up your personal power dial or your motivation switch a notch or two, change your life channels, or feel more comfortable experiencing your feelings, I invite you to connect with me. I enthusiastically work to help individuals desiring to enhance their personal well-being emotionally, spiritually, psychologically, andor socially. I enjoy partnering with adults and teens, using cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, cognitive processing therapy, recovery-oriented therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, trauma-informed therapy, and positive psychology therapies to empower individuals. Let’s connect the dots together, identifying how your life experiences shape and impact your current concerns and strengths, and deciding if you believe you may grow by making some modifications. It’s true, that 'self-awareness is key' to a healthy sense of self, personal empowerment, growth, self-confidence, and healing from all types of impactful life experiences. I believe any of us in today’s society can benefit from conversing, expressing, exploring, venting, and learning more about ourselves by partnering with compassionate, relatable, diversified, sincere, genuine, warm, culturally sensitive, and insightful support. There are typically more options than we are aware of, and more perspectives and strategies for interpreting, healing from, and coping with life experiences and stressors. We're naturally equipped to experience those feelings we find uncomfortable. We can always learn as we live, additional mechanisms for managing a sense of feeling overwhelmed, being down, or wanting to give up. I excel at helping people identify other helpful avenues that they’re not used to seeking or considering. I pursued my Master's degree in Social Work - Direct Practice 20 years after undergrad, after over 15 years in sales and marketing, and after my life-changing experiences and choices. I became a therapist because I enjoy seeing others brighten as they become more empowered and comfortable with allowing themselves to identify with, experience, and express themselves. More peace, stability, a sense of freedom, and manageability—one day at a time—is possible.
