My Approach to Helping
I enjoy working with people to provide tools and skills to better manage and overcome trauma, anxiety, irritability and anger, depression, insomnia, and relationship difficulties. I utilize CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-focused approaches during sessions. I will work with you to develop an action plan to identify and manage your triggers and overcome your distress to allow you to live the life you want. I also want people to feel more in control, instead of anxiety, relationship distress, or irritability determining your response or actions. People have told me that they most appreciate my willingness to be direct, genuine, and use humor during sessions.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy is more than talking or venting. When you work with me, I want you to decide what your goal is. And then we'll work together to figure out a plan. Hope is not a course of action, so let's get specific. From our sessions, I want you to: develop an understanding of the cause of your stress, learn tools and strategies to make meaningful changes in your life, be able to stop the negative thoughts and replace them with truth, be able to communicate and be heard, and feel in control.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Living in a military family throughout my life taught me resilience, and I want to help others feel confident even when in difficult situations.
