My Approach to Helping
Kristi Hard, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I exercise a client-centered and strengths-based approach and enjoy assisting clients as they work through their challenges. I have received specialized training in domestic violence and trauma processing.
My therapeutic approach includes Client Centered Therapy (CCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I have experience with mental health issues and has experience treating depression, anxiety, bipolar, and borderline personality disorder and PTSD. I like to practice in a calm soothing, safe environment to help clients feel at ease. I tried to help clients to feel relaxed and safe with working with me.
About eleven years ago my ex-husband and I adopted my biological niece, my sister was a drug addict and she could no longer care for her daughter. It was through working with my daughters and her therapist that I decided that I wanted to go back to school to be able to help other people like her therapist had helped my family.
I like to ask clients what goals they want to work on in our time together. Then make a plan to work towards together.
I like to spend a little bit of time getting to know one another and talking about their expectations.
