My Approach to Helping
You are stressed, overwhelmed, and feel like this is not the life you ordered. You want to feel different but do not know how to make that happen. I get it! And not only have I been there, but I can help.
If you have exhausted all your effort in trying to feel better and are finding that nothing works, let me collaborate with you to help you discover something that will work!
I understand that it is important that you feel comfortable with your choice of a mental health provider. As with any new relationship, getting to know one another is the first step in determining whether or not I will be a good fit for you.
Beginning therapy with me as your therapist is easy. I begin by making you an initial appointment where we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy, your current circumstances, any history you would like to share, and what you want to get out of therapy. Once we discuss your current situation and your goals, I have a better idea of how I can help. This first session is also a good time for you to ask any questions you have and decide if I will be a good fit for you.

My Role as a Therapist
I believe that individual therapy is a process that requires work and commitment. Individuals beginning the therapy process must be open to thinking and doing things differently. I offer counseling in a compassionate and non-judging space where clients are able to explore and process thoughts, feelings and behaviors, gain an alternative perspective, and discover news ways of thinking and behaving. If you are in need of support, wanting to change self-defeating thoughts and behaviors, or need an empathetic ear waiting to listen.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Going to therapy does not make you weak or flawed. In fact, asking for help takes courage and strength of character. By beginning therapy, you are choosing to make changes to better yourself and your life. This is no different then you making a choice to consult a doctor for a physical ailment or massage therapist for muscle pain. Seeking therapy is a way of taking responsibility by accepting where you are at in life and making a commitment to work on the situation.
