My Approach to Helping
I work with people who have anxiety, stress, are experiencing lossgrief and trauma and who want to grow their self-awareness and coping skills. I use a mixture of person-centered theory and cognitive-behavioral theory among others. What this means is we will look at patterns in your thinking, behavior, and feelings that can lead to stress or frustration and work to break those cycles. This also means that you are the expert in yourself and I am here to support you.
I believe we all have the capacity to bring about the change we want to see. My goal is to provide a space for you to be heard and where you can feel safe in your emotions in a time that may be particularly vulnerable. Having overcome my own life-altering losses and trauma, I found my passion and love for counseling which has led me here.
