My Approach to Helping
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2011 and my Master's in Clinical Mental Health with a specialization in equine-assisted mental health from Prescott College in 2016. I became a licensed professional counselor in 2020. I am currently completing trauma resolution training with the Somatic Experiencing® Training Institute to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Prior to opening my private practice, I trained and counseled throughout the valley to develop skills to work with diverse populations and community needs. I completed my practicum and internship at Remuda Ranch at The Meadows specializing in equine therapy for those struggling with eating disorders, addiction, and trauma. For three years, I worked with children and families in the child welfare system to strengthen their family units, support reunification, and prevent children from being removed from their homes. I was an equine therapist at Hunkapi Programs for four years serving individuals, families, and groups. I specialized in implementing mindfulness-based practices and somatic psychology to provide trauma-informed care to at-risk youth, children in the child welfare system, and first responders. Today, my private practice specializes in the treatment of anxiety, trauma posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and grief, specifically in children, adolescents, adults, first responders, and healthcare workers. My model focuses on enhancing the mind-body connection to promote emotional balance, resilience, and trauma resolution. I believe that you already have everything you need inside of you to live a more fulfilling and grounded life. Through the integration of somatic psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy, I provide trauma-informed care to help you improve emotion and thought regulation, increase stress management and resolve trauma.
