My Approach to Helping

Hello! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and it’s a privilege to support you on your journey of self-exploration and healing. My personal experiences have led me to the mental health field, where I’ve learned that it’s possible to create meaningful change after facing emotional challenges and personal struggles. I’m here to offer a non-judgmental, safe space where we can work together to understand your experiences and create a plan that aligns with your wellness goals.

As a first-generation Asian American, I have a deep understanding of the unique pressures around cultural identity, family expectations, and mental health stigma. My approach focuses on reducing these stigmas within the Asian community while helping clients challenge limiting beliefs, like the model minority myth, and nurture their personal growth toward a balanced, authentic life.

More Info About My Practice

My work is rooted in a harm-reduction, strength-based, and change-oriented approach. I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods, including Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and DBT skills like radical acceptance. By exploring your thoughts and emotions, I aim to help you build resilience, set healthy boundaries, and develop greater self-acceptance. Together, we will create a collaborative, individualized treatment plan that addresses life’s challenges and moves you toward living your most fulfilling and authentic life.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

As someone who understands the complexities of navigating multiple cultures, I'm passionate about helping those from the Asian diaspora work through the challenges of acculturation, family expectations, and cultural identity. I know how hard it can be to balance familial obligations while trying to stay true to yourself. Together, we can explore how to set healthy boundaries, honor your cultural roots, and still lead a life that feels authentically yours. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and at peace in your journey of balancing cultures and living your truth.

Whether you’re working through childhood trauma, struggling with communication in relationships, or seeking motivation for change, I am here to guide you on your path.
