My Approach to Helping
She has training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and client-centered therapy (CCT) approaches to individual psychotherapy. Treatment is client-focused and may incorporate multiple approaches for various client goals. Her ideal client has experienced many hardships, particularly in childhood. However, they are interested in assessing their life, and their strengths, and working together towards healthy goals to manage depression, anxiety, and any stress that might impede achieving a stable healthy life. She is skilled at providing her clients with a realistic view of their struggles, how these issues develop, the factors that maintain these issues, and practical steps to change. Anchored on the client's worldview view and spirituality guiding principles, she navigates towards a client's ideal self. We work to dispel the shame and self-defeating thoughts and behaviors that create an unhealthy self-image and are a barrier to change. She works with clients to commit to lifestyle changes that sustain positive mental and emotional health. She enjoys serving and affirming clients of diverse backgrounds. She has specialized training from Gallaudet University in providing Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing adults with psychotherapy services in sign language. Furthermore, she has familiarized herself with various cultural, lifestyle, and spiritual perspectives in order to equip her to provide treatment that caters to each individual client's needs. She is committed to an open perspective to allow clients to use their values to achieve their ideal self. If you are struggling to cope with overwhelming emotions and symptoms, if you have had so many hurts and find it hard to trust, if you are ready to do the work to understand yourself and your pains if you are ready to focus on your needs, focus on your health, allow her to join you in creating your own joy.
