My Approach to Helping

Are you desiring more in your life? To increase your awareness and compassion for yourself and for those around you? My deep desire is to help you live out of a space that is based on deep-seated compassion and kindness, and not fear and anxiety. I consider therapy a space for you to be heard in an unbiased, professional, judgment-free zone to jointly process and move through your story and places that feel stuck or suffering.

More Info About My Practice

I work a good deal with youth and young adults, and also see individuals in all ages and phases of life. My deep desire is to help those who have suffered all forms of trauma, with a special focus on those impacted by the #metoo movement and the deep impact sexual abuse has had on so many lives. I've worked in crisis intervention short-term therapeutic environments, schools, and meeting one on one and groups in a small office. I am evolving to incorporate taking therapy outside of the office to experience the integration of nature, body and animals as mechanisms to engage different aspects of our whole being.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

I often say finding a therapist is one of the most important relationship decisions next to finding a spouse! Some of the key things to consider in choosing a therapist -
1. Do you feel safe, and see yourself able to be vulnerable and honest with this person?
2. Does the way (method, modalities) this therapist works work for you?
3. Do you feel this therapist will be able to connect with you and your life experience?
4. Do the logistics of this therapist work for you and your circumstances (location, times, costs, etc.)?
