My Approach to Helping
I am a trauma-informed therapist, licensed in Illinois, Arizona, and Nevada. I have experience with a wide variety of populations from survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence to those struggling with substance use disorders and severe mental health conditions. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I am also certified to provide Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents with Chronic Stress (SPARCS). I have over ten years of experience facilitating individual, group, and family sessions. I create a safe space for healing. I use techniques such as mindfulness, grounding, meditation, deep breathing, and a variety of additional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to help my clients manage depression and anxiety in healthy ways. I provide Trauma-Focused CBT and traditional Psychotherapy to assist individuals with exploring the impact that past trauma has on current thought, behavior, and relationship patterns. I enjoy working with individuals to achieve their therapy goals. It is rewarding to see the progress that clients have made and how empowered they feel as they work towards achieving their goals. Whether providing therapy online or in an in-person, client-facing session, my goal is to help my clients manage difficult life circumstances that may arise or to cope with mental health conditions that may have already been present or are emerging.
