My Approach to Helping
We all hold the answers to our inner struggles, we are just unable to access those answers all of the time. As a mental health counselor, I believe that it is my job to help someone find the path to those answers. As every person is different, so are their struggles, and what may be the correct ideology or path for one is going to look completely different for another. This is why it is so essential that someone feels comfortable with their therapist, and feels they have rapport, trust, and understanding. At the end of the day, the methodology, modality, and theory that any therapist subscribes to matters less than whether or not the client feels comfortable across the room from them. I believe this wholeheartedly and believe the most important work we do in therapy is developing our relationship so that clients can find answers in a safe environment with someone they trust. I am trained in a variety of methods and techniques including attachment theory, EMDR, TRM, and others.
