My Approach to Helping
Our addictions, troubling behaviors, toxic relationships and harmful patterns come from trauma. I focus on working with folks who’ve suffered trauma through relationships, childhood experiences, and the justice system. I understand that our brains develop ways to survive the worst of humanity, we find a way to live through what should destroy us. However, at some point those survival skills may no longer offer safety or comfort. When that happens, we work together to find a way out of survival mode, a way towards thriving.
Every person is unique, with their own preferences and needs. So I have developed a large toolkit of options including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing, Attachment theory and many others.
