My Approach to Helping
As therapists go, I'm active and conversational. The relationship between you and your therapist is so important, and I really view us as collaborators. I'm curious, engaged, and enjoy exploring new ways of thinking and processing what's happening in your life. I encourage your feedback and take delight in customizing your care. No two therapists are the same, and no two clients are the same. I'm not going to give you the exact same care I'd give someone else, so my style differs from person to person--based on what they need most. Generally, I'm active and engaged and draw from a wide variety of modalities. If you feel like you'd work well with a therapist who is conversational, direct, and warm, set up a free consultation and we'll take it from there.
My approach is built on a foundation of feminist, anti-oppression values. I believe therapy is ineffective if the greater social context in which someone lives is not examined critically.
